A Love Letter to Sicily
Join us as we share our eleven day Rick Steve's Sicilian Adventure!

"I love Sicily. It's beautiful. It's Old. It's Italy, But it's not!"
Anthony Bourdain
Bongiorno! We are Peter and Stephanie Luddington. I am a first grade teacher and my husband teaches TK and College history. We have raised three children, have two grandchildren and after college expenses and a wedding we are ready to explore the world. We originally planned this trip for my 50th birthday in 2020. Covid changed all of that. It was a long wait but worth it! This was our first Rick Steve's trip and definitely not our last. We came home and immediately booked our next tour to Italy this March, 2025 and have already thought about the one after that. We are helplessly addicted to Rick's tours!

Our Favorites
It is almost impossible to even choose favorites on this trip. We managed to each choose our favorite place and activity.

Ortigia
This is view of the sunset from our room window!
For me there was something magical about Ortigia. I did not want to leave this sleepy little sea town.

Wandering the streets
The Open Field
Up to 200 Guests
I would have thought my favorite activity would have been the baking lesson but, it turns out that just wandering the backstreets brought me the most joy.

Ortigia
A view of the clear sea.
Peter's favorite place was Ortigia. He loved the bight blue skies and sparkling clear water.

Passeggiata
The passeggiata in Palermo
Peter loved the way people were dresses and out walking. From families, to couples young and old everyone was enjoying the evening and greeting each other with hugs and kisses.

Our Group of Happy Travelers
The moment we introduced ourselves at the Welcome gathering until our goodbyes, we laughed, ate, drank and walked together as new friends for life.

WHY CHOOSE RICK STEVES?
Peter & I have watched Rick's shows, participated in Monday night travel and seen him speak at travel events. His enthusiasm for different cultures, their history, food and language is infectious. There really is no other way to travel if you are interested in a guide group. All you activities, transportation, lodging and most meals are done. Leaving you with the fun part of soaking in the atmosphere. You make new friends, have alone time to wander and did I mention the unexpected perks? On our trip our amazing guide Andrea helped celebrate Peter's birthday and many others with special cakes and desserts. He purchased us his favorite snacks and gelato along the way. We all followed him during our free time to his favorite chocolate shop and bakeries. This truly is an amazing experience and the best way to immerse yourself into another culture. You laugh, you create life long memories/friends and you may even crack a hard boiled egg on the bus window! (LOL! One member liked to snack on the bus!)
